HOW PEOPLE JOIN THE POOL
Not everyone who applies to Tunga gets in. Our vetting process looks at technical skills, but that's only the start. We also assess communication, English proficiency, AI-readiness, reliability, and readiness to work with international teams.
We've learned over 10+ years that technical ability alone doesn't predict success in a remote, cross-cultural setting. The people in our pool have been evaluated on the full picture: can they do the work, and can they do it well in the context you'll put them in?
The pool is continuously refreshed. Our in-house Academy develops talent specifically for international collaboration, so the pipeline keeps growing in both depth and breadth.

Tunga works with professionals across 20 African countries. The largest communities are in Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, and Egypt, with growing presence in Ghana, South Africa, Cameroon, Rwanda, and others.
Each country has its own strengths. Nigeria has one of the continent's largest and most dynamic tech ecosystems. East Africa (Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda) has a strong culture of international collaboration. Egypt and South Africa offer deep technical specialisation.
We know these ecosystems because we operate in them. With teams in Lagos, Kampala, and Nairobi, Tunga is not remote from its own talent.
