How Emmanuel Built BauWatch's Logistics Platform Solo in One Year

The Client: BauWatch — protecting construction sites across Europe

BauWatch provides security and surveillance solutions for construction sites across Europe. Beyond physical security, managing the logistics of equipment, personnel, and operations across dozens of active sites requires sophisticated internal tooling — software that didn't exist off the shelf.

The Challenge: A custom logistics platform with no existing blueprint

BauWatch needed to build Ilips — an internal logistics platform to coordinate field operations across their construction site network. The platform had to handle scheduling, equipment tracking, and operational workflows specific to their industry. There was no existing solution that fit their requirements.

They needed a developer who could work independently, take ownership of the product, and build it from the ground up — without a large team or extensive hand-holding.

The Solution: Emmanuel Weng — one developer, full ownership

Tunga matched BauWatch with Emmanuel Weng, who embedded directly into the BauWatch team and worked closely with product owner Marleen throughout the engagement. Over the course of a year, Emmanuel took Ilips from concept to a working logistics platform used across BauWatch's operations.

Working as the sole developer on the project, Emmanuel managed both the technical architecture and day-to-day implementation — translating business requirements from Marleen into features, iterating quickly, and maintaining a high standard of code quality throughout.

The Result: A fully operational logistics platform in twelve months

After one year of focused development, Ilips was operational and actively used by BauWatch's field operations teams. What could have required a multi-person team and significantly more investment was delivered by a single dedicated developer — on time and within budget.
