The Client: Niluk: tackling loneliness through community
Niluk is a Netherlands-based startup that built an app to address the issue of loneliness and social isolation. Unlike other social networks designed to keep users addicted, Niluk is engineered to connect people to their local community as efficiently as possible — with no algorithms, and the option to pre-filter connections based on common interests and proximity.
The Challenge: Lead developer departed mid-project
Niluk founder Elena Köstler was in the middle of a project when her lead developer left the company. She needed a team to take over the project and bring it to a good end — within scope and deadline. The app needed to work on both iOS and Android.
The Solution: A pan-African managed team mobilised fast
Tunga mobilised a truly pan-African managed services team for Niluk. The team consisted of Ronald Nyakahuma from Uganda as project manager, and three developers from Nigeria and Egypt. The app runs on React Native for both iOS and Android. Ronald coordinated the work and managed the developer team on behalf of the client.
